Sky is returning to shoot season three of its award-winning show Das Boot for 104 days in Prague, Czech Republic and Malta, with filming having started in the former, the broadcaster confirmed to KFTV.

The previous two seasons of the award-winning drama, produced by Bavaria Fiction for Sky Studios, had also filmed in these countries, including in water tanks and on the open ocean around Malta and at the Luzna museum, a chateau in Slapy and a host of locations around Prague.

New cast members for the third series, produced by Bavaria Fiction for Sky Studios, include Ray Stevenson (The Spanish Princess), Elisa Schlott (Strange Daughter), Anna Schudt (The Sniffles Would Have Been Just Fine) Joana Ribeiro (The Man Who Kiled Don Quixote), Florian Panzner (Dark) and Johann von Bulow (13 minutes).

Based on a script by Colin Teevan, Tony Saint and staff writer Judith Angerbauer, the third series follows the tense struggles of a young U-boat crew as they engage in the Battle of the Atlantic whilst being hunted down by an obsessed Royal Navy Commander in a thrilling game of cat-and-mouse.

The series is supported by the Czech Film Commission and the Malta Film Commission. NBCUniversal Global Distribution handles international sales on behalf of Sky Studios.
