New Paul Feig movie sets up UK shoot

Paul Feig is at the helm of new romantic feature, Last Christmas, currently in pre-production in the UK.

The London-set holiday romance from Universal has a screenplay by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings. Thompson also produces alongside David Livingstone.

Producer Livingstone recently wrapped shooting Judy for his company Calamity Films. The biopic stars Renee Zellweger as iconic performer Judy Garland, centring on her sell-out season in London in 1968.

Feig’s Last Christmas is one of several US films based in the UK around now – Hobbs and Shaw has just begun principal photography and the Men in Black spinoff started shooting earlier this summer.

Figures released by the BFI in July showed that inward investment projects made up around 80% of the total production spend on feature films in the UK during the first six months of 2018.
