Nick Thurlow, whose credits include Moonlight and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri has joined Mohanalal's Indian historical drama Vrushabha as executive producer.

News of the Hollywood producer joining the India-UK project, comes one month into production as the film started shooting in July.

Yesterday (August 7) a rep for the film announced on Twitter that Thurlow has been brought on as executive producer.

Publicist Yuvraaj tweeted: "The highly anticipated Pan-India Action Entertainer #VRUSHABHA ropes in #NickThurlow, the executive producer of Academy Award winning film ‘Moonlight,’ to create a Action spectacle like never before!"

He added: "This epic saga hits over 4500 screens worldwide in Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi in 2024."

The collaboration marks the first time an Indian film has adopted a Hollywood-style production, and the first Indian film in Thurlow's repertoire. He will be responsible for different aspects of Vrushabha's filmmaking.

In a statement, Thurlow said: “This is my first brush working on a multilingual film that too outside my country and I am absolutely thrilled. Every film is a new experience for me, giving me something to learn, and with Vrushabha I am sure the experience will be extraordinary.”

Directed by Nanda Kishore, Vrushabha, is an action entertainer, described by the Drishyam actor as "one of his career’s biggest films in terms of scale, budget, and reach" (via Gulf News).

Vrushabha’s producer Vishal Gurnani said of Thurlow joining the team: “Vrushabha is amongst the first Indian films to be made on a scale on par with Hollywood films, and we are fortunate to have someone of Nick’s stature and credibility join Team Vrushabha.”

Indian television's Ekta Kapoor-led Balaji Telefilms is partnering with Connekkt Media, AVS Studios, and Dubai-based producer Praveer Singh for the feature.
